    平潭，是中國大陸距離臺灣本島最近的地方。
    Pingtan is the closest place on the Chinese mainland to Taiwan.

    清朝乾隆年間，平潭縣志中曾有“一夕沙埋十八村”的記載。

    20世紀60年代，平潭開始對長江澳、龍王頭燕下浦、遠垱澳、流東、流西五大風(fēng)口實施沙荒治理。

    2018年4月，與福建農(nóng)林大學(xué)合作推進“平潭濱海菌草生態(tài)治理及產(chǎn)業(yè)化的開發(fā)研究與示范”項目，在平潭長江澳菌草種植示范基地試驗種植150多畝菌草
    In April 2018, Pingtan cooperated with Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University to promotethe “Development Research and Demonstrationof Pingtan Coastal Juncao Ecological Management and Industrialization" project, and planted more than 150 acres of Juncao in Pingtan Changjiang’ao Juncao Planting Demonstration Base.
    2019年被授予“國家森林城市”稱號。
